Lillie McLean (she/her) is an Atlanta-based licensed attorney turned mental health counselor who is passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with empathy, curiosity, and care. She creates a calm, supportive space where clients feel safe to slow down, reflect, and begin healing from within. Her goal is to help individuals and couples move through trauma, anxiety, depression, and the everyday pressures of life while building self-love, resilience, and deeper understanding.
Lillie works with adults—both individuals and couples—who may be struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, maintaining sobriety, or the strain that daily life can place on their relationships with themselves and others (romantic, platonic, professional, or academic). Many of her clients are simply looking for relief, clarity, and a more intentional way to manage stress and emotions.
In individual therapy, Lillie offers both accountability and refuge. She creates space for honest reflection while encouraging clients to approach themselves with compassion and grace. Her integrative approach draws from evidence-based modalities such as person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Each approach is thoughtfully tailored to support the client’s unique healing journey.
For couples, Lillie often works with partners who feel stuck in cycles of conflict or miscommunication. Some couples are learning to parent as a team, navigating neurodivergence within their relationship, supporting recovery from addiction, or simply feeling exhausted by constant arguments. In therapy, Lillie helps couples develop practical tools to improve communication, better understand each other’s perspectives, and shift relationship patterns toward greater connection and compassion. Her goal is to help partners build the kind of relationship they truly want to share. Lillie is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT).
Clients working with Lillie can expect sessions that balance emotional safety with meaningful growth. Therapy with her is supportive, but it also involves honest work. She helps clients tolerate discomfort, stay accountable to their goals, and celebrate every step of progress—no matter how small.
Lillie believes her role as a counselor is to empower clients to develop a realistic, positive, and healthy view of themselves so they can navigate life’s triumphs and hardships with confidence and self-trust.
Outside of her work, Lillie enjoys traveling with her family and is proud to have visited three of the world’s seven continents—so far. She is also deeply committed to supporting underserved communities and caregivers, inspired by her own experience raising a child on the Autism Spectrum and supporting a parent with a traumatic brain injury.
