Amy Robbins, an Atlanta-based LPC, RPT-S, and Certified EMDR therapy clinician, has been providing therapeutic services to Atlanta area children, teens, adults, couples and families since 1999.

I see adults for a variety of reasons including divorce, relationships, grief, depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, trauma, parenting and the list goes on.

I strive to create a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which individuals can be supported in their efforts to change and grow as well as become reconnected to their strengths and dreams.

EMDR Therapy is also an important part of my clinical world. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and have an interest in utilizing this technique when clinically appropriate. EMDR Therapy has been very helpful in areas such as trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, anxiety, and when one “feels stuck.” You have my permission to google away about EMDR. Or for specific information on EMDR Therapy please refer to this website or

I see couples for therapy as well and utilize the Gottman Theory. I am very open and honest with each individual in the couples’ therapy process and seek to help each couple get to a stronger place in their relationship.

I love working with teenagers in therapy. I love taking them out of the office to get coffee or a snack and process all the things that challenge this age group. Small groups are also a part of my approach- especially for middle schoolers around friendships, courage, vulnerability, trust, relationships and more. Don’t be surprised to find your kids doing a sandtray, art therapeutic activity or bibiliotherapy in my room.
I have a specialty certification as a Registered Play Therapist / Supervisor (RPT-S) and see children ages 10 and up. This RPT-S distinction is held by fewer than 75 individuals in the State of Georgia, making Amy Robbins Counseling a great asset to the Atlanta area.

Outside of the office, I love to hike, camp, read, yoga, kayak, take pottery classes, get to the water (any water will do: beach, river, waterfalls, lake, etc.), drink good wine and spend time with friends and family (and my dog River).
